National Black Girl Month™ 2025

We are the mothers. The aunties. The grandmothers, the great-grands, the godmothers. The older cousins raising the next generation. And this year, we are centering us.

National Black Girl Month™ (NBGM) 2025 is a celebration, a call to rest, and a reclamation of the care Black women and girls deserve. This year, we honor Black motherhood in all its forms—not just those who have given birth, but the mentors, teachers, and community mothers who have shaped and nurtured generations.

At a time when the world expects Black women to carry everything, we choose to prioritize ourselves.

This April, we will gather, reflect, and celebrate through:

  • Conversations on identity, legacy, and leadership

  • Honoring the diversity of Black motherhood—single moms, co-parents, adoptive and foster mothers, elder matriarchs, and chosen family

  • Addressing healing, rest, and breaking generational cycles

  • Equipping the next generation with knowledge, resources, and support

Our mission remains the same, and we believe it is more important, relevant, and imperative now than ever before: to build a space to highlight, support, engage, and celebrate Black Womanhood in all of its facets—including the girls we are raising and mentoring.

Join us this April as we honor Black motherhood, pour back into ourselves, and continue shaping the future.
